The first record on the Łeba location comes from the year 1282. It was then a Slavic village situated on the west side of the river Łeba. In 1570 another storm destroyed the town and its remains were covered with the sand of the dunes. After the first partition of Poland in 1772 Łeba had belonged to Germany until the end of the World War II.
Łeba enjoys the most beautiful beaches on the Polish coast. The beaches extend for 10km into the West and East directions from the jetty. They are sandy of an unusual whiteness, cleanness and width. In this part of Baltic Sea the water is clean and pure as there is no industry in Łeba and its surroundings.
